Zwi Sender, residing in Tel Aviv, Israel, sought compensation for harm to profession and health due to Nazi persecution. Before the persecution, he lived in Vienna and moved to Kaschau (Košice) in 1933, where he worked as a car mechanic until 1939. After his father lost his job due to persecution, the family moved to Budapest, from where Zwi emigrated to Palestine in April 1940. He lived in Palestine until 1942, then in New York until late 1948, returning to Israel in 1949. Following Zwi Sender's death on August 9, 1964, his widow Sara Sender continued the claims for herself and their children, Stanley and Rachel. After Sara's death around June 1975, their children, Simon Sender and Rachel Beth Halachmi, along with Zwi's mother, Rosa Sender, pursued the case. The United Restitution Organization (URO) offices in Tel Aviv, Frankfurt/Main, Berlin, and New York were involved in the case.
