Dr. Walter Gross residing in Tel Aviv, Israel, seeks compensation for harm to profession due to his dismissal from his position as an editor at the "Jüdische Rundschau" in Berlin, Germany. Born in Stettin, Germany Gross was employed by the Zionist Association for Germany (ZVfD) from October 1933. In the summer of 1938, he was assigned to the "Jüdische Rundschau". His employment was terminated on November 22, 1938, following the November pogroms (Kristallnacht). He then worked for the Palestine Office in Berlin before emigrating in March 1939.
Previously, the applicant received a capital compensation of DM 40,000 for professional damages under the BEG. He also received a one-time capital compensation of DM 20,000 as a settlement for his pension claims under § 31d BWGÖD.
The URO offices in Tel Aviv and Cologne were involved in handling the case.
