Fani Frida Auslender, residing in Bnei Brak, Israel, seeks compensation for precious metal items and jewelry seized in 1944 upon arrival at the Auschwitz concentration camp. The items belonged to herself, her parents Jeno Weiss and Rifka Weiss (née Salomon), and her siblings Mosche, Breindl, and Mirjam Weiss. The entire family was deported from Nagyecsed, Hungary, in June 1944. Her parents and the three named siblings perished in Auschwitz in 1944. Her sister, Ida Judit Filip (née Weiss), was a co-claimant and survived. Before the war, Fani worked as a seamstress. After the war, she married Esriel Auslender in 1947 in Pocking, Germany, and immigrated to Israel on May 25, 1949. On August 21, 1974, the Oberfinanzdirektion Berlin granted a joint hardship compensation of 2,220 DM under § 44a of the Federal Restitution Law (BRüG). The case was handled by the URO offices in Tel Aviv and Berlin.
